Theo Purchase

Project Administrator

Theo (they/them) is a current Juris Doctor student at RMIT and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Criminology and Politics & International Relations) from The University of Melbourne. They are currently living and working on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Land.

At the CIJ, Theo’s work focuses on supporting research, advocacy and policy projects through providing administration assistance, stakeholder co-ordination, data analysis and reporting. Theo is deeply passionate about embodying person-centred and decarceral values in research processes, and working alongside people with lived (and living) experiences to centre their expertise at the heart of systems change.

Outside of the CIJ, Theo has volunteered as an LGBTQ+ youth peer mentor with Minus18 and is currently interning with the CIJ’s partner Smart Justice for Young People (SJ4YP).
