Anna HowardSenior Adviser, Research and Advocacy
Anna is an experienced lawyer who has practised as a social justice lawyer in community legal centres and native title representation bodies for more than a decade.
She has significant experience as an advocate in metropolitan and regional courts in the areas of family law, civil law and criminal law.
Anna joined the Centre to coordinate the Enabling Justice (ABI) Project. She subsequently worked on the CIJ’s follow-up project Supporting Justice – which aims to improve the justice system’s responses to mental health and disability.
Anna previously worked as Student Programs Coordinator where she taught into the RMIT JD program as Supervisor of Clinical Legal Education and as Coordinator of the CIJ Study Tour. She was also seconded to the Mental Health Legal Centre where she supervised students on clinical placements and provided legal assistance to women in prison.
