Asia SwidaRestorative Justice Convener
Asia is an accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Family Therapist with over sixteen years of experience as counsellor and facilitator in community and private sectors.
Asia specialises in working with people who have experienced trauma, including asylum seekers fleeing torture and survivors of family violence and sexual assault. Asia has devised and facilitated various highly focused Therapeutic Support Programs within Non-Government Organisations, Community Health Centres, Schools and Youth Detention Centers. She has also worked extensively in Private Practice with individuals, couples, families and groups.
Asia holds a Bachelor of Social Work from RMIT as well as Bachelor of Social Sciences (Psychology/Sociology) and a Master of Social Sciences (Family Therapy) from Swinburne University of Technology. She has also trained in Narrative Therapy and the somatic based practice of Hakomi.
