Claire Slattery is a communications specialist with experience in journalism, the arts and the university sector.

Her work with the CIJ includes writing speeches, promoting the CIJ’s research, developing and advising on strategy for the organisation, putting on events, working on the CIJ podcast, blog and video channels and managing the CIJ website, as well as advocating for innovative and therapeutic justice with the broader legal and university sectors.

Before joining the CIJ, Claire worked as a journalist in the ABC’s Melbourne newsroom reporting for the broadcaster’s flagship radio current affairs programs AM, PM and The World Today. Claire has also worked as a journalist in regional Victoria and Southeast Asia for ABC News, the Phnom Penh Post and The Weekly Review magazine. As a journalist Claire regularly covered courts, legal affairs and law and order policy issues. She has previously worked in multimedia and as an arts administrator for the State Library of Victoria, the National Gallery of Victoria and the Melbourne Fringe.
