Kate OttreyStudent Program Manager
Kate’s background is as a criminal solicitor prosecuting serious crime for the Victorian Office of Public Prosecutions. Kate has particular experience in prosecuting sexual offences in Melbourne and regional Victoria and working with child witnesses.
Kate has also worked in a court setting and in commercial private practice.
Kate teaches into the Juris Doctor program at RMIT as Supervisor of Clinical Legal Education and as Coordinator of the CIJ Study Tour. Kate is seconded to the Mental Health Legal Centre where she supervises students on clinical placements and provides legal assistance to women in prison. Kate also coordinates the CIJ’s taster placements for JD students.
