The justice system: a help or a hindrance?

15 May 2023, 5:30PM-6:30PM

Come and join us for this engaging panel discussion held in the historic Former Melbourne Magistrates’ Court.

The justice system is an integral part of a thriving democracy – but does it really achieve the outcomes expected of it? Is our justice system and the way it’s implemented able to deal with all of the complexities of our 21st Century society?

As part of Victorian Law Week 2023, hear from a panel of experts about whether our current justice processes and structures act as a positive influence and intervention in people’s lives, or further entrench disadvantage.

Facilitator: Rob Hulls, Director of the Centre for Innovative Justice

Panellists:

  • Nyadol Nyuon, Director, Sir Zelman Cowan Centre
  • Shaun Braybrook, Manager Wulgunggo Ngalu Learning Place
  • Dr Mindy Sotiri, Executive Director of Justice Reform Initiative
