Legal responses to adolescent violence in the home: where to from here?

3 March 2020, 9:00AM-10:00AM

Four years on from the release of the RCFV’s vital recommendations, are we still responding to adolescent violence in the home with the same blunt instruments? How does a family violence response which is so often a ‘one size fits all’ approach address the complexity of this issue?

You are warmly invited to the launch of the CIJ’s ANROWS funded research, The PIPA Project: Positive Interventions for Perpetrators of Adolescent violence in the home.

Launched by Gabrielle Williams, Minister for the Prevention of Family Violence, Minister for Women and Minister for Youth Affairs and hosted by CIJ Director Rob Hulls, join a panel of experts including:

• Judge Amanda Chambers, President of the Children’s Court of Victoria

• Heather Nancarrow, CEO of ANROWS

• Jo Howard, Family Violence Consultant and

• PIPA Project lead author, Elena Campbell

for a discussion of the relevant policy challenges and how we can work together for a more effective and collaborative response to families and young people at risk.

Light refreshments will follow.
