Report Launch: The CIJ’s Restorative Justice Conferencing Pilot Program

24 October 2019, 9:30AM-11:00AM

The Centre for Innovative Justice will launch a report on its Restorative Justice Conferencing Pilot Program.

The report, ‘It’s healing to hear another person’s story and also to tell your own story’, presents the findings of a CIJ project that delivered a pilot restorative justice conferencing program responding to serious motor vehicle collisions. The project was funded by the Victorian Legal Services Board.

Following the success of the project the CIJ will establish an ongoing restorative justice practice which will make restorative justice processes available in response to adult crime and other harms. To be known as Open Circle, the CIJ’s restorative justice practice will also be launched at this event.

We are delighted that the Hon. Ben Carroll, Minster for Crime Prevention, Corrections, Youth Justice and Victim Support will launch the report and Open Circle.

Light refreshments will follow the launch.
